Twenty years in Law. 8 years on my own terms

I trained and qualified at leading international law firms, spending over a decade handling complex commercial property disputes at the highest level. The kind of cases where the stakes were high, the clients were demanding, and getting it wrong wasn’t an option.

I then made the move that most lawyers talk about but few actually do. I left. I joined a legal consultancy as a consultant, bought in after five years, and helped co-own and scale it to 75 people before choosing to step back and practise independently.

That was eight years ago. Today I run a commercial property litigation practice from Bali, Indonesia — working with UK and international clients across time zones, handling cases through Arch Law (SRA-regulated), and doing the work I love on my own terms.

I also help other solicitors make the same move; through the Legal Consultant Academy, my bespoke Strategic Practice Reviews, and CPD training for commercial property lawyers.

If you’re a business owner, landlord or investor with a property dispute — or a solicitor thinking about what comes next — I’d be glad to talk.
